Flying to The Mara/Samburu:

Kenya is well supported with travel infrastructure. Flying to Samburu or Mara is only a short flight from the Nairobi hub. There are internal flight connections from the coast and other Kenyan airports.

We choose to fly you out as it is cost effective in terms of time taken to get you out. Our priority is getting you out in the bush with the animals for maximum game viewing. The airstrips we use are very close to the camps and lodges we use, so long road transfers after flying are not required. In fact, when landing in the Mara, have your camera ready as you land in the Mara Reserve itself and your safari starts then.

Travel By Road.

And the Great News! The road I used to use in the old days from Nairobi via Ngong Hills is now tarmacked, fully functional and considerably safer than the main highway down the escarpment. This road has less cars meaning less traffic, and offers very scenic views as you go down from Ngong Hills into the hilly plains, around Mt Suswa into Suswa Town where you join the Narok road. This can be incorporated into your safari for only $150 per person for a one-way trip and $300 for a return trip, with a coffee or brunch break in Narok before proceeding to the Mara.
