Kenya Safari Tours

Tuesday, April 21, 2009

At Freeman Safaris I run several safari tours in Kenya, each one focusing on a different aspect of the Kenyan wildlife. The safari tours are labelled as follows:

* Masai Mara Safari Tour
* Best Of Kenya Safari Tour
* Samburu Safari Tour

Masai Mara Safari Tour
I often refer to this safari as the 'migration safari' because the journey we embark upon is one following the game as they make their way across the Kenyan plains during their migration. This is an incredibly varied tour because we cover the entire Mara area. Despite the daily routine of being up and out before first light being the same every day, no two days are actually the same on this safari. For an example account of the Masai Mara safari tour take a look at the following account of a day following the migration.

Best Of Kenya Safari Tour
As is implied in the title, this particular trip is designed to take in several areas of the Kenyan wild and can start either in the Masai Mara or Samburu. I have included a detailed breakdown of the itinerary for this safari tour.

Samburu Safari Tour
Samburu Park is the place to be if you want to see elephants. With the majority of the Park being so dry and dusty the river is the lifeline and the congregation point for elephant herds looking to drink, wash and cool down. Other animals you're likely to meet during this safari tour are leopards, Grevy's zebra, oryx, gerenuk and more, as well as a wide range of birds.

It seems these days that a lot of Kenya safari tours are presented in such a rushed way - staying in hotels away from the wild, spending a huge amount of time being driven to viewing points, and then moving on according to the schedule, no matter how many animals have been present, and having to be back at the hotel again by a specified time. These kind of tours are great as an introduction to what Kenya can offer, but for those looking for a more immersive experience; something which gives you a real idea of what it is to be out in the wild, then this is what I aim to provide at Freeman Safaris.

Personal care afforded was absolute and, photographically, we were presented with unimaginable closeup views of wildlife and village life that will stay with us forever. The holiday exceeded all our expectations, a holiday we will repeat."
